Our Journey
Calvary Chapel Farmville held its first service on January 3, 2010, with just sixteen people gathered in a cold barn to worship and study God’s Word. From those humble beginnings, God has faithfully guided and provided every step of the way.
After meeting briefly in the PEFYA Gym, the church moved to a location on Simpson Road, and in May 2013, Calvary Chapel Farmville settled into its current home at 302 Industrial Park Road. What began as a small gathering of believers has grown into a thriving fellowship of families and individuals committed to following Jesus and living out His Word.
Our fellowship is built on the pattern of Acts 2:42 — “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” This verse continues to shape who we are and what we do.
Under the leadership of Pastor Marv Fisher, who has served the Farmville community since 1995, Calvary Chapel Farmville emphasizes teaching the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter. Over the years, we’ve studied through more than sixty books of the Bible and held thousands of Bible studies, all with one goal — to know Jesus and make Him known.
As a fellowship, we’ve seen seasons of growth and challenge, unity and restoration, yet through it all, God’s faithfulness remains constant. We hold fast to the truth that “Where God guides, He provides.”
Calvary Chapel Farmville exists to worship God, study His Word, and serve our community. Whether you are new to the area, seeking a church home, or simply exploring faith, we invite you to join us and see what God is doing here.
